Long Island's Premiere Extended-Stay Hotel Protects Guests

Written By The Inn at Fox Hollow | 01/13/21 | 5 min read

Travel might look a little different in 2021, but the Inn at Fox Hollow is still committed to providing you with a safe and relaxing hotel stay on the North Shore of Long Island. This effort starts with our services and processes, as we take steps to deliver an enjoyable and unforgettable experience that’s also as clean and sanitized as possible.

Before you read on, consider the Inn at Fox Hollow for your next extended stay. Read about our Extended Stay Suites here, or contact us at 516-224-8171.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic signaled the beginning of a chaotic time for everyone in the hotel and extended stay industry—but since hospitality is all about meeting the needs of all guests no matter the circumstances, we quickly implemented a plan with a full complement of safety measures.

First and foremost, the entire staff at the Inn at Fox Hollow sought guidance from healthcare professionals for how to best accommodate guests during the pandemic. We followed the lead of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which delivered precautions specific to the hotel industry.

For your convenience, we’ve included many of our safety efforts here for your easy reference!

Safety Measures at Extended Stay Hotels

Taking those lessons from the CDC, we immediately required face masks/face coverings in all public areas of the Inn at Fox Hollow, as well as at the Fox Hollow catering space. This goes for all employees and guests.

Meanwhile, we’ve posted signage at the catering and hotel entrances, main lobby, dining room, Courtyard, and elevators clearly indicating our ongoing face mask policy.

To further ensure that guests and staff members are surrounded by air that is safe and clean, we installed MERV-13 air filters in all public areas of the Fox Hollow Catering Hall, restaurant area, and hotel. MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Values) are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for filtering air of virus particles and are highly effective in protecting against the spread of COVID-19 when used in conjunction with the best practices we’ve implemented at the Fox Hollow.

These best practices include:

  • Protective plexiglass shield at the front desk
  • Social distancing between employees and guests
  • Frequent hand washing
  • Daily Employee Health Checks
  • Increased cleaning frequency
  • Hand sanitizer available in multiple locations, including the front desk, dining room, fitness room, laundry room, courtyard, and pool

What’s more, we’ve made the decision to leave guest rooms vacant for two full days after check out, at which point the spaces are completely cleaned and sanitized before the next guest checks in. As for how we clean and sanitize, we’re using hospital-grade disinfectant and these enhanced cleaning products and protocols are used in all public areas, including the main lobby, fitness room, laundry area, elevators, and restrooms.

Food Service Safety Measures

The good news is that hungry guests can still enjoy the unmatched cuisine of our room service menu, and all guests can rest assured that our chefs and servers are required to wear gloves and face masks at all times.

Unfortunately, the hotel buffet area is closed until further notice, but our complimentary meals are now available for pick up in the main Hearth Room during our adjusted service hours. These hours are as follows:

  • Breakfast: 7:30 to 9:30 a.m., daily
  • Dinner: 6 to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday

Social distanced seating is available in the Hearth Room, the Courtyard, and Vintage25

Pool Area Safety Information

Whether for relaxation or exercise, the Inn at Fox Hollow pool is one of our guests’ favorite features. Thankfully, we are still able to offer this treasured amenity to our guests, albeit with a new collection of rules and regulations meant to keep everyone safe while they enjoy the pool. Reservations for the pool and lounge furniture will be taken for same-day use, no earlier than 3 p.m. the day prior and must be made with the pool attendant during pool operating hours. All reservations are available for one-hour time slots, which begin on the hour.

This goes for all hotel guests

Speaking of hotel guests, they are the only ones who can use the pool. No non-guests will be allowed—this ensures our guests have priority in the now limited space.

And to further ensure safety, all guests must wear masks while standing and walking in the Courtyard and pool area—but guests can remove masks when seated in the pool. Everyone must practice social distancing at all times, including guests and staff. Pool bathers must also practice social distancing while in the pool, unless they are with the same household or family unit.

Our staff members are available daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to answer your questions and concerns regarding all of the COVID-19 safety measures at the Inn at Fox Hollow. Thank you for your understanding and patience—we look forward to accommodating you during your next stay with us!
